SABX2 Wanton Noodle, Pratunam

We woke up super early today coz I wanna shop at the morning wholesales market. Been to Bangkok so many times but never had a chance to shop at the morning market coz I always overslept! Hehe...

This time, I forced myself and J to wake up early... Of coz we must our coffee to kick start the day...

Thai Milk Tea/Coffee

One should not miss the road side Thai Milk Tea/Coffee... It's so so so good! So much better than those franchise cafe and it only cost 20b per cup! Dirt Cheap! I can have at least 2 cups per day!

Waiting for our daily dose
Some fried bun... Not too sure what is it called...
Porridge Stall
All sorts of ingredient for you to choose from
And also side dishes if u wish to add on
See those cherries? Yumz... And those brown pod-like fruit next to it are tamarind, or what we called "Assam".
Noodle Stall

It was too early and we weren't hungry yet maybe coz we had too much meat he night before (see previous post). So... of too shopping... The morning wholesale market opens around 5am and closed at 9am. So we had to be quick!

After first session of shopping, dropped our shopping bags back to the room... We continue our food hunt. Was supposed to search for the famous Boat Noodle at Victory Monument, but due to time-constraint, I decided to skip it this time.

So we went for SABX2 Wanton Noodle. This one is so much nearer, just somewhere in Pratunam... to be exact, Petchburi Soi 19. If u're not sure where is it? Just asked around. It's quite easy to find.

But first, let's buy some chicken wings.
SABX2 Wanton Noodle

Tada... Found it... surprisingly we don't have to queue. I always see updates online that people have to wait in a long queue...

Pork Leg Rice

And I thought they only sell wanton noodle...

Wanton Mee Stall
Take note! There's only ONE outlet in Thailand!
So... with this sign... we didn't manage to eat the chicken wing we tapao-ed (take-away). Haha!
Look at the crowd... mostly tourists!

Ssshhh... not too loud
Very refreshing Chrysanthemum Tea
Pork Leg Rice
I'm not really a fan of pork leg rice...but this is soooo good!!! We initially ordered 1 each to try out, but ended up ordering another plate of pork leg rice. Too good!

Wanton Noodle

Here comes the wanton noodle. Took a while to arrive. They have it in soup and dry. But we saw most ppl ordering the dry one, so it should be nicer. To be honest, I prefer the pork leg rice over this. The noodle was good. But the wanton... it taste weird to me. It's a bit sweet... Hm... But glad that I've tried. I'll definitely come back for the pork leg rice again. Yummy!

Street Food in Pratunam, Bangkok (January 2015)

So... I was in Bangkok on January 20 - 23. Although it was a 4D3N holiday, I actually only had 2 days to do all the food hunt and shopping as I arrived late at nite, around 11pm Bangkok time, and depart 6am on our last day. >_< Yea... a very rush trip.

Since we arrived near midnight... the only thing we can do was... FOOD HUNTING! We stayed at The 93 Hotel at Pratunam. The rooms are so spacious and modern. Front desk are so friendly and helpful. Location is good. Right in the middle of wholesale market and you definitely won't starve yourself here as food vendors are all over almost the whole day.

Our Spacious Room

Food hunt started as soon as we settle down. All these food vendors are just below our hotel. Price starts from as low as 10bath (Approx. RM1).

BBQ & Grill Seafood
Grilled prawn ranging at 100baht (approx. RM10) and 200baht (approx. RM20) only!

Nope I didn't try the prawn coz I don't take prawn. Yea I'm sensitive to prawn  but not very serious... I just don't the itchy throat every time after I had it. It's very irritating...

Fat & Juicy Grilled Squid
J waiting for his grilled prawn
Fried Chicken stall... Not the best though...

Bought deep fried 3 layer pork, chicken skin and pork rib here. All these cost 30baht/100g.

More BBQ & Grill... but PORKIE and chicken! I like!
Grilled Cat Fish, anyone??
Dinner/Supper in the room

So these were our meal for the night. Loving the strawberry so so much... And it's only 100baht for this whole pack! *Nom nom nom*

Rising Ramen 雷神

It's been a while since I last visited Rising Ramen, a ramen shop operated by two young Japanese men. They started out at their own house few months back. It was so successful coz everyone love their ramen.

Anyway, it has been raining non-stop consequctively for the past 4 days! Gosh! Some lower areas were ady flooding. It's so cold so I told hubby I'm craving something hot and soupy... So here we are... Been wanting to come here many times but their operating hour normally crashes with our working hour. Well... We basically work the whole day, except for Sunday. If I'm not wrong, they start at 11.30am to 3pm, break in between and reopen at 5.30pm to 9.30pm. But their ramen is so popular that it always finished way before their closing time.

Ok. I better stop babbling. Check out what we had below:

Kuro Charsiu Ramen (Japanese pork broth noodle soup with Kuro Garlic Oil and extra Charsiu) - RM16 (+ RM1 for the egg)
Rising Bowl (Park Charsiu mixed with special Rising Sauce, topped with red hot Aka Paste) - RM9
Aka Ramen (Japanese Pork Broth Noodles Soup with Spicy Chili Bomb) - RM11
Rising Rolls (Deep fried sushi with cream cheese) - RM5

Yea... it's a bit too pricy for 2 pcs of sushi. But I'm giving in coz there's cream cheese inside. I LOVE CHEESE!

And this cute little chilli grinder... No we didn't have to order this... I just find it too cute not to share. Haha...

Our bill came up to RM55.50 including 2 cans of beer and 1 mango juice. Between these two ramen... I still prefer the original over Aka Ramen. Aka Ramen was not bad. Just that the chilli has covered the taste of the broth. And it might be a little too spicy for those who don't take chilli. So satisfying! Burp!

Rustic Bean & Batter

Rusty Bean & Batter, one of the newest cafe in town with Australian concept. Located on the 1st floor of ST3, right next to the overhead bridge.

Made a date with Lydia today and finally we are here. Been wanting to come here few times since it opened but it's always full. Seats are quite limited.

It has many different seating. You may choose based on your own comfort.

We chose to sit near the window, facing the main road. It feels like we're in overseas looking through the glass window since it was raining...

While waiting for our order... Selfie is a must! :P

We ordered Rusty Fairy (RM15.90) and Salted Caramel Crunch Waffle (I don't rmb how much is this).

Salted Caramel Crunch Waffle
Rusty Fairy
Playing with our cotton candy before we start sipping... Hehe

So.. How to consume your Rusty Fairy... First... Dip ur cotton candy into the hot milk, then only you pour in the espresso... That's it. It was alright. Taste wise, nothing special. But presentation was quite unique. I guess most people come here just for this. Haha!

As for the waffle... Not too bad. But it's not fluffy enough. And was a little too sweet for me. Anyway, I'll definitely come back again... Maybe to try out their breakfast.

A New Chapter

Hello readers...(well, if there's any... :D)

Welcome to my new blog - Breath, Love and Explore - all about food and travel.

It's been years since I last blogged. Been busy with works and stuff and basically... nth really interesting happened since I've stop going out that often.

Before I start, let me tell u abit more myself before I start blogging...

I'm a 30 y.o. Pisces who just got married to to my 7-yrs BF two months ago. Travel is my passion. I love to travel... and that explain my blog title. Nothing can stop me from travelling, UNLESS... I'm broke. I would go anywhere... yes, anywhere... even to the poorest country or suburb area. I love to see and experience different lifestyle, I love to eat, take photos... and of coz... RETAIL THERAPY. Well, which girls doesn't, right?

I don't usually splurge on accommodation during my holiday, unless good offer is given. I love staying in unique guesthouse. No, I don mind staying in dormitory and shared bathroom isn't a problem for me, with one condition... it has to be CLEAN.

I don't call myself a backpacker coz I never backpack before. I haven't got the gut to do so. Plus... I'm a married woman now and would love to have kids some day... So I don't think the idea of backpacking will ever come true. But I really do hope I can do it with my girlfriends some day.

Considering a flashpacker myself... Yes.. I travel with my gadgets. I can't live without internet. I must have my smartphone and iPad with me. I see, I shoot, I share... mostly on Instagram.

I haven't been to many places yet. So far... only some parts of NZ, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and of coz... Malaysia... my country! Don't call yourself a travel if u don't travel within your own country.

I always travel on a budget. Of coz.. I do spoil myself sometimes... especially on food and shopping. Teehee... I love coffee and cakes. When I'm not working... I would ask my gfs out for a chillax session at some nice cafes in Kuching. Yea... Cafes are everywhere now in Kuching. Will definitely blog about it when I'm free.

I fly to Bangkok very often. Main reason is to stock up for my e-boutique, Sugarbomb, which I partner with my sis-in-law. It's now 2.y.o. To find out more, please liking our page HERE. We offer trendy and quality clothing at affordable price! Do show some supports yea. >.<

Will be traveling again next few days... 4D3N (but actually I only have 2 full days coz I'm arriving late, and departing early in the morning) to stock up for CNY and hopefully I can make it to Chocolate Ville and hunting for Boat Noodles and Wanton Mee.

Til then...
